"VOOOOLTEEEEES FIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!"
- Steve Armstrong, leader of the Voltes V Team
Choudenji Machine Voltes V, known simply as Voltes V, or Voltes 5, is an anime from 1977-78. The anime follows a team of five pilots defending Earth from an evil alien race. The five pilots can combine their flying machines to form the Super Robot Voltes V. The pilots are also searching for Dr. Ned Armstrong, the father of three of the pilots. It is super-popular in the Philippines.
In 1979, president Ferdinand Marcos banned it from the Philippines, however, after the 1986 People Power Revolution, the ban was lifted. As a result, the robot became popular among rebels.
In 2023, Toei Animation supervised the Live Action Adaptation of Voltes V named, Voltes V: Legacy. Which is aired from May 8, 2023 to September 8, 2023
